Shane is a Senior Associate of Cox Architecture in the Brisbane office. He has earned this role primarily from being the practice’s leader on site and contract administration for which he has exceptional skills in uniting architects’, clients’ and builders’ objectives.
Shane graduated from the Queensland University of Technology in 1989, joining the practice in that year before leaving to work on retail and tourism projects elsewhere. He rejoined Cox Architecture in 2000 and has become the Brisbane leader of our Quality Assurance team.
The list of major and complex projects that Shane has overseen on site is exhaustive, but includes the University of Queensland Oral Health Centre, the One One One Eagle Street office tower in Brisbane, the BCEC on Grey Street expansion of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, Ipswich Courts, Brisbane Magistrates Court, and the Goodwill Pedestrian Bridge on the Brisbane River.
He has extensive expertise in all forms of project procurement process from traditional lump sum to design-and-construct to managing contract and to public-private-partnership (PPP). He is a lead mentor to staff in construction and fabrication techniques, and conducts post-occupancy reviews to inform our staff in detailing and technical resolution.
