This redevelopment was designed to continue the legacy of the Adelaide Oval, world famous as an Australian home of cricket, with many traditions of the grounds maintained – the heritage scoreboard and northern-mound fig trees included. Simultaneously, it was to ensure the development of an iconic, world-class, multi-sport, 50,000-seat stadium energising the recreational edge of Adelaide for cricket and AFL sports. The design builds on the recently completed Western Stand, contributing to the development of the ground as a series of unique sports pavilions set within the Adelaide parklands. Focused on the fan and player experience, the stadium incorporates technology and unique social spaces designed to promote fan engagement.
