Perth Children’s Hospital

Nedlands, Perth, Western Australia

This new 274-bed children’s hospital in Nedlands is designed to replace the Princess Margaret Hospital, to provide best possible clinical care for future generations, and to serve as the base for WA’s outstanding paediatric research. Designed to be child and adolescent focussed and family centred, it provides tertiary level paediatric health services and secondary health services, including inpatient and outpatient and ambulatory care. The hospital includes significant increases in outpatient and day-stay capacity, family facilities, operating theatres, mental health disorder facilities, neonatal intensive care beds, staff amenities and retail space. An integrated research and education facility, high dependency unit for high risk patients, and greater capacity for new technology, such as intra-operative MRIs, are also incorporated.
