Greg Howlett is one of our principal directors in our Perth Office, and he has responsibility for our Abu Dhabi office in the Middle East.
Greg graduated from Curtin University, Western Australia in 1977. He began his career in the Middle East on large hotel resort projects, then in Marbella, Spain. After attending the UK’s renowned Architecture Association Summer School, he returned to Australia as a partner of the historic Perth practice Howlett and Bailey. The practice merged with Cox Architecture in 1995, adopting the name Cox Howlett Bailey Woodland.
Examples of Greg’s projects where he has been Project Architect are the Western Australian Maritime Museum, East Perth Government Offices, Albert Facey House in Forrest Place in Perth, the Western Australian Institute of Management, Singapore Airlines House and All Saints College in Perth’s Bullcreek.
Greg is a Past President of the Australian Institute of Architects Western Australian Chapter, Chairman of the WA branch of the Australian Council of Building Design Professionals, and Chairman of the WA Government Research and Development Advisor Council. He has been a member of the WA Government’s Arts Advisory Council, the Curtin University School of Architecture Advisory Committee, the Heritage Council of Western Australia’s Development Committee and the Uniting Church Resource Board and Investment Committee in Western Australia.
