Satvir is a Director of COX, joining the practice in 2001. Prior to this, he worked with Terry Farrel & Partners in London, and Kisho Kurokawa Architects + Associates in Japan.
Satvir leads the rail transport team in the Sydney office, key in the practice’s management structure. He also has expertise in various building typologies spanning airports, rail networks and stations, bus interchanges, public buildings, commercial and retail developments, residential and industrial development, leisure and entertainment facilities. He thoroughly understands key aspects and aspiration of client and stakeholder requirements and provides considered, timely and relevant solutions and responses.
As an architectural lead, Satvir has led major complex transport infrastructure projects such as Sydney Metro City, Southwest and Central Station, Wynyard Station Upgrade, Sydney Metro Network and Chatswood Transport Interchange. Previously, in Japan and Malaysia as Design Associate for Kisho Kurokawa Architects, Satvir was a key member of the design team on the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
His interest in transportation projects focuses on the issues of movement and connectivity, the inherent complexity of the typology and the collaborative efforts required by the engineers, architects and urban designers. He has an interest in the potential for redevelopment of existing stations as a catalyst for change.
