Welcoming Brisbane’s Newest Associates

Join us in congratulating the three new Associates based in Brisbane. These leadership appointments recognise their individual contributions to our practice, projects, clients, collaborators and wider community.

Annabel Monk – Associate

Annabel is driven to create high-quality architecture that improves everyday lives. She values collaborating with diverse clients and communities to deliver inclusive, meaningful spaces, embedding COX’s commitments to design excellence, collaboration, and social responsibility into every project.

Before relocating to Australia, Annabel trained and registered in the UK, contributing to major infrastructure projects including the Northern Line Extension to London Underground and HS2 rail, alongside smaller-scale residential work.

Since joining COX in 2018, she has focused on multi-residential and commercial projects, including Build-to-Rent, social housing and modular homes. When not in the studio, she draws inspiration from travel, cultures, cities and landscapes, which continually informs her approach to design.

Marko Trifunjagic – Associate

Marko is an experienced project leader, known for his technical proficiency and energetic, committed approach to complex projects.

With over 10 years of experience at COX, Marko is passionate about delivering highly detailed and thoughtful projects from conception through to completion. He thrives in resolving complex design challenges into simple solutions, with an adaptable skillset that has enabled him to lead a range of sectors such as light and heavy rail, multi-residential, workplace, sports, education, and civic and cultural buildings.

His drive and attention to detail have helped him deliver award-winning projects. Most notably, the Cairns Performing Art Centre, Transurban Workplace and AURA Somerset Indooroopilly.

Rebecca Hunter – Associate

Born and bred in Ireland, Rebecca is an experienced professional with over 10 years’ experience working in Australia.

Since joining COX Architecture in 2017, she has progressed to Associate and Submissions Manager, bringing a strong understanding of practice operations, bid strategy, stakeholder engagement, and acting as a driving force behind many project wins.

Rebecca genuinely cares about both the people she works with and the quality of outcomes she delivers. She embodies COX’s values of collaboration, integrity, and generosity, with a people-first approach that inspires those around her.

During her time as Co-Chair of the Property Industry Foundation’s (PIF) Future Leaders Committee, Rebecca was recognised at the 2024 PIF Awards for her ‘Outstanding Contribution to The Property Industry Foundation QLD,’ a testament to her dedication to contributing back to the community.
