The Architectural Draftsperson at COX Architecture is a specialist who bridges creative design and practical execution, producing thorough, coordinated documentation. This position offers the chance to own key design packages, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and shape spaces that are purposeful, visually compelling, and responsive to client and user needs.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsperson with a strong focus on interiors documentation to be responsible for producing high-quality construction documentation sets for a range of interior projects, from high-end residential fitouts to commercial workplace, and hospitality environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and coordinate detailed construction documentation including plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans (RCPs), joinery drawings, and schedules.
- Apply a solid understanding of technical and construction detailing across project types.
- Produce and manage drawing sets using Revit and/or AutoCAD in accordance with studio standards and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain room data sheets, finish schedules, door and hardware schedules, and FF&E documentation.
- Coordinate with consultants (structural, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) to integrate services into interior documentation.
- Support project coordination and maintain document control across all phases.
- Conduct drawing quality checks and peer reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Review shop drawings, samples and respond to RFIs in collaboration with the Project Lead.
- Maintain drawing registers and manage document control processes.
- Perform additional duties as required to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Architectural Drafting, Interior Design or architecture-related field, such as Bachelor’s degree, Diploma, or Certificate.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Architecture or Interior Design, preferably within a large-scale design practice.
- Ability to prepare and coordinate comprehensive interior documentation sets, including detailed floor plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details using AutoCAD / Revit.
- Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, and detailing as they apply to interior fit-outs.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard of drawing quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey design concepts, ideas, and solutions to project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Skilled in building strong working relationships with colleagues, project leads, and external stakeholders, including clients and consultants, and contributing to team goals and project delivery.
- Ability to think critically, creatively, and strategically, and to balance competing design priorities and stakeholder expectations.
- Proficient in prioritising work, and meeting deadlines while ensuring quality and accuracy in outputs; high attention to detail and precision.
Remuneration:
- Salary range from $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on level of experience.
