Our Canberra studio is looking for a mid-level interior designer who will make a strong contribution to projects through their design skills and project delivery experience. The role will be required to work within multidisciplinary project teams on a range of projects, including base building and interiors-based projects.

The role will be required to work within multidisciplinary project teams on a range of projects, including base building and interiors-based projects. The role will be supported by the guidance and mentoring of an Associate and/or Senior Interior Designer.
The role will require the ability to confidently work across multiple projects of varying size and complexity while understanding the project scope and deliverables needed. The role will contribute to creative and innovative solutions locally, nationally, and internationally for clients requiring workplace, educational, commercial, community facilities, hospitality and residential interior design.
Role requires the person to be able to collaborate on and explore design ideas within a team, while efficiently managing individual tasks and responsibilities. The ability to design from macro to micro is required. You will need to understand standards, building codes and relevant specifications.
Strong technical skills in REVIT, Indesign, Rhino (desirable) are needed to ensure efficiency in workflow. The studio will support and look for opportunities for broader career growth and development. This level will be mentored by several senior staff members within the practice.
Key responsibilities:
- Liaison with project team, clients, and consultants
- Client liaison including but not limited to correspondence and meeting attendance, consultant directing, site visits
- Production of detailed workings, plans, drawings, schedules, and specifications
- Deliver ‘packages’ of work to rolling deadlines
- Contribution to design, documentation, specifying and scheduling of interior spaces, materials and finishes, FF+E and loose furniture
- Design and documentation skills using REVIT
- Design and planning, including graphic requirements / presentations
- Organisation of own and junior teamwork load with good communication and time management
- Attendance at meetings related to your projects
- Confident presenter of project designs, concepts to internal and external meetings
- Ability to understand project scope, fees, resourcing needs of projects
- Quality Assurance to ensure documentation complies with current regulations and standards
- Understanding of regulatory standards and contractual obligations
- Commitment to continuous learning and development, actively seek out opportunities to broaden the knowledge base and skills that can be brought to the company.
Competencies and experience required:
- Mid (3-5 years) experience
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Demonstrated abilities in client liaison, personal responsibility for delivery of project outcomes, on time and within budget
- Concept design to construction detail knowledge, and interdisciplinary coordination
- Excellent design and presentation skills
- Solutions focussed, analytical thinking, initiative, time management important
- Intermediate to strong level of REVIT skills – ESSENTIAL
- Working knowledge of RHINO (Desirable)
- Indesign experience (Desirable)
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office
- Degree in Interior Architecture or Architecture
