We’re looking for an enthusiastic PR & Communications Specialist to join our marketing and communications team and help bring the stories of our work and people to life.
About the role:
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone with around four years’ experience who is ready to take the next step. You’ll drive and support media relations efforts, content creation, campaign delivery and storytelling. You’ll need to be a natural communicator: proactive, organised and confident juggling competing priorities, and importantly, be a strong writer who can extract the strongest story from a high volume of content, and remix it to share across different channels and audiences.
Key responsibilities:
Media and communications strategy
- Support the PR Lead in delivering the Sydney studio’s earned media and communications program
- Help uncover, shape and pitch compelling stories from across the practice to media across diverse verticals
- Assist in the delivery of proactive media campaigns, including building media lists, tracking media coverage and maintaining strong journalist relationships
- Contribute to the planning and execution of communications projects, including major design announcements, events, publications and milestones
- Review media coverage and share relevant articles and insights with internal stakeholders; provide regular reporting on performance
Content creation and adaptation
- Draft and adapt content for a range of formats: press releases, website copy, social media, interview briefs and award entries
- Develop engaging day-to-day social media content for platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn
- Liaise with internal project teams to gather information, source imagery and shape compelling content
- Internal collaboration and relationship building
- Build strong relationships with internal teams to uncover surprising, meaningful stories from across the practice
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure stories are authentic, well-informed and aligned with the studio’s voice and strategy
Social media knowledge
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of social media platforms, current trends and what makes content resonate
- Monitor media and cultural trends, bringing fresh, relevant ideas into the mix
About you
- Around 3-4 years’ experience in PR and communications, experience working in agencies, or in architecture and design is a bonus
- Deep understanding of the media landscape, including crafting, pitching, and managing story development with journalists
- Strong media relationships across news, business, lifestyle, architecture, design and cultural sectors
- Confident in developing and rolling out integrated communications plans, hosting media interviews, briefing senior spokespeople
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt content across media, digital, and internal platforms
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Self-starter with strong initiative and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Positive, collaborative, and excited to grow your career in a purpose-driven, creative environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field
