Cox Architecture and UN Studio Collaborate on $2b Mixed Use Development

Cox Architecture is thrilled to be collaborating with renowned firm UN Studio on the $2 billion development design competition hosted by Beulah International.

Having just met for a multi-day workshop at UN Studio’s Amsterdam office, Cox Architecture’s project team are relishing the collaborative design process.

“Working with UN Studio on ‘Southbank by Beulah’ is an opportunity for our team to consider future living in a new, collaborative context. Our workshops in Amsterdam allowed us to build on our design experience, and work with peers whose ideas and work we really respect and enjoy”, said Director Philip Rowe.

Situated at 118 City Road, ‘Southbank by Beulah’ is a mixed use development that will comprise of a variety of programs to create a diverse hub with a strong public focus. Incorporating retail, residential, commercial offices, a hotel, entertainment, technological display centres, and public green spaces, the development is a landmark project that will shape Southbank’s future.

Cox Architecture and UN Studio presented to the competition jury at the mid stage event at the Melbourne School of Design in May, where students at the University also utilised the question time to  to the competing firms.

The design competition is currently between six partnerships of International firms, who will present their concepts at the symposium on July 27th.
