Speed Mentoring in Melbourne

Earlier this month, the COX Melbourne team hosted EmAGN’s ‘Speed Mentoring’ General Advice evening.

Aiming to foster engagement between early career graduates and more established professionals, the event involved timed rotations between mentors and mentees. In a relaxed setting, the ‘speed daters’ shared knowledge and experience on topics such as career progression and goals, portfolios and registration.

Design is all about the collective. As a profession we need to keep sharing with each other – there’s always something new to be learned.

Jared Smith, Pascal Marie and Shelley Xu represented COX as mentors alongside peers from ARCH, Blair Smith Architecture, Brand Architects, Edition Office, Kennedy Nolan, Kosloff Architecture, Populous and Wardle.

“It was fantastic to host EmAGN in the studio and see so many lively conversations,” says COX Associate Elizabeth Stonehouse.

“I really appreciate the generosity of those within the industry who step up to mentor others. Architecture is a life-long apprenticeship, but that’s what makes it fun.”

Thank you to EmAGN for the opportunity to host this great event and to our COX team members and all participants for getting involved.
