Glory Days

Paying homage to Jorn Utzon’s summer house in Mallorca with an epicurean overlay, Glory Days is a welcome addition to the Sydney hospitality scene. Housed within the iconic Bondi Pavilion, the all-day venue is set to become a favourite for locals and tourists alike.

Since opening its doors in the late 1920s the Pavilion has had many lives, however through a careful and considered conservation project the heritage building will see its significance reinstated and amenity returned to the community.

COX were engaged in 2021 to transform Glory Days into a space that is fresh, yet respectful of its longstanding heritage.

Beachside venues like Glory Days bring communities together – from sun-up to sundown welcoming an array of people through their doors. COX has created a space that is playful and joyful, elevating the Pavilion and speaking to all these visitors – from a local grabbing a takeaway coffee to a tourist heading out for a glamourous date night.

Our interiors are an eclectic mix of textured stone and vintage pieces that create a nostalgic glamour, while maintaining the effortlessly cool Bondi vibe. A striking red travertine bar snakes around the compact space, enabling a window for takeaway and a lively back bar where cooking is on display. Mirroring the bar and creating a mini monolith, stone banquette seating is offset with light and outdoor piped seat cushions and refined rustic woven dining chairs.

By day – Glory Days is a place for morning coffees, nutritious brunches and long lunches that turn into hazy afternoons. By night – it transforms into a chic wine bar, serving high-quality local produce.
