Interloop Wins Inaugural Outstanding Project of the Year at NSW Heritage Awards
Today at the National Trust’s 2018 Heritage Awards, Interloop, a sculpture at Sydney’s Wynyard Station, won the inaugural award for Outstanding Project of the Year. Designed by Chris Fox as part of Cox Architecture’s redevelopment of the station, the installation repurposes Wynyard Station’s historic wooden escalators, which served Sydney commuters for over 80 years from 1931. Referencing all the journeys taken over the years, Interloop’s twists and turns offer a moment of reflection for those who pass underneath.
It was listed by Transport for NSW who were there to accept the award along with the artist Chris Fox. We at Cox congratulate them both.
