New Chapter for Sandstone Point Hotel and Holiday Resort Revealed

A bold new vision has been unveiled for the Sandstone Point Hotel and Holiday Resort. This $250 million expansion is set to elevate the Moreton Bay destination into one of Queensland’s most remarkable tourism landmarks.

Central to the development is the region’s first greenfield 5-star hotel, offering 202 rooms across two 10-storey buildings. Designed to integrate with the landscape and embrace the sweeping coastal views of the Pumicestone Passage, the hotel will bring a new level of luxury accommodation and amenity to the area.

Complementing the hotel, the project also includes a mix of dining, retail, and indoor leisure facilities, along with a dedicated Tourism Information Centre. These additions are intended to create spaces that appeal to both visitors and the local community. Upgrades to event infrastructure such as expanded basement parking, a dedicated bus terminal, and improved concert facilities, will make it easier to host major gatherings while enhancing the experience for attendees.

The organic nature of the architecture has been conceived to respond to the coastal environment to enhance the experience of this truly unique place. Natural materials, landscape and the integration of water within the hotel lobby makes for an immersive subtropical experience for guests as they are welcomed to the hotel.

The two hotel buildings are arranged to form a continuous arc, shaped to maximise view potential from each hotel suite while creating space at ground level for a large outdoor infinity pool overlooking the passage. A signature restaurant and wellness centre open out to the pool area ensuring all spaces benefit from and enjoy this beautiful outlook.

Sandstone Point Hotel has been designed to rival the best of the Asia Pacific’s luxury resort accommodation, signalling a new benchmark for the hotel experience within Australia.

As Moreton Bay’s first 5-star accommodation, the project is expected to deliver significant economic benefits: attracting new visitors, creating jobs, and elevating the region’s tourism profile. It will also provide essential accommodation ahead of Brisbane 2032, as infrastructure becomes increasingly important to meet the demands of international and domestic visitors.
