Wynyard Station Upgrade | Signage & Wayfinding

COX were commissioned by Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) in 2014 to undertake the concept design, documentation and construction services for the Wynyard Station Upgrade. The upgrade delivered high level objectives such as precinct integration and station identity, and overcoming challenges of working within an existing, complex and constrained environment. Wynyard is an important city making precinct and is one of the primary public places in Sydney’s CBD. With the consistent growth of Sydney, the station will be required to cater for the significant increased demand over the next 20 years.
COX used signage and wayfinding to provide clear access at concourse and platform levels, improving the level of transparency and sightlines, and create a logical sequence of spaces. The design resulted in a palette of high-quality finishes and neutral colour tones, providing rail users with a consistent customer experience throughout the station.
