57 Wyatt Street (COX Adelaide Studio) | Interiors

Adelaide, South Australia

COX’s Adelaide Studio is a showcase of craft, community, and wellness.

Nestled in the heart of the CBD, it’s a space crafted by designers – for designers.

Embracing the triumvirate of community, wellness, and craft, the design ethos of 57 Wyatt Street heralds an era of workplaces that are both functional and inspirational. The project was conceived with a deep commitment to fostering a connected community, resulting in the creation of flexible and adaptable spaces that encourage collaboration as well as moments of individual reflection.

COX Director, Zoe King

At COX, we believe in the power of community and collaboration. Our  space at 57 Wyatt Street is a testament to these values, offering a vibrant environment where creativity thrives.

The studio embodies a culture of inclusivity, inviting the wider South Australian design community to contribute diverse perspectives and ideas. Employees actively participated in the design process, ensuring that the space seamlessly integrates COX’s culture, values, and traditions.

Collaborating with local artisans such as the late Khai Liew, Remmington Matters, Emma Sadie Thompson, and Phoebe Kretschmer, COX has curated a space that reflects the essence of the region. From bespoke furniture pieces to handcrafted details, every element of the design celebrates the rich cultural tapestry of South Australia.

In addition, COX partnered Aboriginal elder Rosalind Coleman and Kaurna artist Tony Wilson to acknowledge Country with local Kaurna names for rooms and a five-metre piece of art that represents COX Architecture’s RAP commitment.

Artist, Tony Wilson

Listen with heart, and you can speak from the heart. Where our hearts attention goes – our energy flows. This piece is an acknowledgment to Country and journey of reconciliation. Each day we can create change. When we have a genuine desire for positive change, and to build or restore relationships through trust and respect, we embark on the journey of reconciliation.

Wellness and sustainability were innate design drivers. Users are empowered to tailor their environment, taking advantage of natural breezes through operable windows. The design supports our team’s wellbeing with curated resources such as tech-free multi-purpose rooms for solo reflection or team collaboration.

Materials were carefully selected to embody our ethos of doing more with less. Brick, cork, FSC local timbers and natural fibres were employed. To reduce waste, recycled and reused furniture from the previous fit-out was used.

The studio stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design in enhancing the wellbeing and productivity of its occupants.
