60 King William Street is a true mixed-use project, sitting at the intersection of the business and retail precincts of Adelaide’s CBD.

A significant project for South Australia, the development presented a unique opportunity to enhance connectivity and elevate its surrounding urban landscape.

By introducing the vibrant thoroughfare known as Kings Lane, we’ve seamlessly linked King William Street and James Place, invigorating retail spaces and enhancing the city’s food and beverage precinct.

At the heart of our project stands the iconic Sands McDougall building, meticulously restored to serve as a focal point within the surrounding streetscape. Its striking façade, along with the welcoming entry canopy and spacious public lobby, featuring a café and flexible function area, adds a touch of elegance and identity to the precinct.

Comprising a harmonious blend of podium and tower elements, our design pays homage to the city’s heritage while embracing contemporary workplace needs. The sandstone podium, reminiscent of Adelaide’s civic scale and quality, seamlessly transitions into the sleek tower form, symbolising modernity, and innovation. Brick retail shopfronts along James Place further enhance the precinct’s vibrancy and charm.

Our approach was based on achieving a highly functional and best in class mixed-use project for South Australia. The 13 levels of contemporary workplace achieve PCA-A Grade Accommodation and WELL Platinum rating with wellness and sustainability as key design drivers. 60KW also achieves 6 Star Green Star, NABERS 5 Star Energy utilising electric plant, thermally efficient facade design and considered material selections culminating in a building that will operate at net zero emissions. Through collaborative efforts with local trades and experts, we’ve ensured that the project sets a new standard for quality and value in South Australia’s commercial sector.

By combining urban connectivity, contemporary workplace solutions, and exceptional design, 60 King William Street promises to be a transformative addition to Adelaide’s skyline. It not only delivers exceptional built form outcomes but also serves as a catalyst for further urban renewal and growth in the city.
