The NSW Cricket Centre
Sydney, New South Wales
The NSW Cricket Centre is a dedicated, year-round cricket facility at Sydney Olympic Park that will serve both regional and metropolitan cricketers.
The $50 million project is an investment in the future of Cricket in Australia. It will become the new training base for the NSW Blues and Breakers, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder. The centre will act as Cricket NSW’s headquarters and play host to an estimated 35,000 club and community players each year.
The centre includes a two-storey cricket centre and two ovals, 50 outdoor turf practice nets, a 15-lane indoor facility, elite and community change rooms, a gym, rehabilitation and recovery centre and a café.
Cricket NSW Chief Executive Lee Germon
This soon to be world-class facility will allow boys and girls to train alongside their NSW cricket heroes, inspiring the next generation of exciting young players
Looking to transform the organisation, the centre will unify Cricket NSW – improving operation efficiencies and increase collaboration across the business by moving employees into a modern office facility. The design includes a central atrium that allows connection between the mezzanine office space and cricket nets below – immersing employees in the action.
This development will transform Wilson Park into a unique sporting venue, with a main oval that meets International Cricket Council (ICC) requirements. The design incorporates the heritage and history of Cricket NSW, simultaneously providing contemporary facilities to inspire future generations. The venue is truly multi-functional, able to host events from 1500 participants (like the Big Bash League fan day) to a match day of up to 1000 spectators.
