Russell is a Director of COX, specialising in sports, leisure and hospitality projects. With over 35 years’ experience, Russell is involved in the design and delivery of major projects spanning mixed-use, commercial, retail, public and education. He has extensive experience in feasibility studies and master planning
He is responsible for many of the firm’s innovative sports and community leisure facilities including the Sydney International Athletic Stadium, the 1998 Asian Games Aquatic and Athletic facilities, and the entertainment/sports complex, Qudos Bank Arena. More recently, he has been involved in the Hyatt Regency at Darling Harbour, the redevelopment of the Sydney Cricket Ground, Lusail Multi-Purpose Hall in Qatar and Sydney Football Stadium Redevelopment.
Russell has completed projects in Australia and internationally and has maintained a high level of industry participation through lectures and study tours. His projects have won many awards, including the IOC/IAKS Gold and Silver medals.
