Victorian Cricket and Community Centre

Junction Oval, St Kilda, Melbourne

The Victorian Cricket and Community Centre (VC3) is a state-of-the-art, dedicated, year-round cricket training and administration facility that services both regional and metropolitan cricketers, as well as providing facilities for community use to support sport, social, health and educational programs. It is home to the Men’s and Women’s state cricket teams, 20/20 franchises and the historic St Kilda cricket club, and is the first elite level training facility to provide equal facilities for male and female players.

It is Victoria’s second venue that complies with first class cricket standards and offers a complementary alternative to the Melbourne Cricket Ground for Cricket Victoria’first class cricket needs.

The facility provides best practice training, coaching and player preparation facilities for all levels of the sport (from club level to the state representative team level), consolidates Cricket Victoria’s administration, development and training functions into a single location, enables Cricket Victoria to operate more efficiently and effectively and incorporates facilities that are open to the community and support grass roots and junior development programs on a year-round basis.

The venue, whilst being designed primarily around first class cricket standards, is fundamentally flexiblegiving consideration to future major event opportunities such as Twenty 20 Cricket and associated event opportunities. Anticipation of these allied events influenced the design and provision of infrastructure to accommodate future elements such as technology, broadcasting and lighting.
