Applecross Senior High School Redevelopment
Ardross, Western Australia
The Minister for Education announced the redevelopment of the Applecross Senior High School in 2009. The school was established in 1958 and has sustained a reputation for high academic, sporting and cultural achievements – often placed among the highest performing public high schools in WA.
The school has been redeveloped in stages to ensure the 1200 enrolled students’ education wasn’t affected. The design, construction and integration of middle and high school facilities were replaced entirely, with some original facilities such as the gymnasium and science classrooms re-developed and enhanced.
Careful consideration was given for new, existing and potential links between this project and existing facilities in and around the site. Parent involvement was valued and encouraged through the P&C and canteen, school committees, and School Council.
