Carnarvon Police and Justice Complex

Carnarvon

The Carnarvon Police and Justice Complex consolidated multiple agencies on to one site to meet the policing and justice needs of Carnarvon and surrounding communities.

The project comprises the construction of a purpose-built police, justice and corrections complex in a landmark position on the former Gascoyne Traders Site. It includes accommodation for the courts, tribunals and court registry, community justice service centre and office accommodation. There is a separate Police Station and a Custodial Facility for use by all agencies.

Functionality, connectivity and community presence are key outcomes that have forged greater communication and efficiencies for Government and local authorities. It provides a unique experience for visitors and staff alike whilst conveying the importance of a justice complex. Understanding the guidelines and structures required for a police and courts building whilst adhering to timeless notions of form, circulation and spatial arrangement was crucial, reinforcing the architectural value the complex offers its users and the Carnarvon community.
