Related Projects
Karin has developed a career over a decade focused on the design and delivery of significant cultural, civic and educational projects. Now she works across design leadership, complex project delivery and multidisciplinary coordination, with a particular interest in how architecture can strengthen cultural identity, belonging and public life.
Karin has contributed to the ideas, narratives and research that shape projects from their earliest conceptual foundations – currently major cultural projects including the Canberra Lyric Theatre and Riverside Theatres Renewal, building on experience across projects including the Powerhouse Ultimo Design Competition, MLC Performing Arts Precinct and the University of Sydney’s Engineering and Technology Precinct. Her work spans new cultural institutions, adaptive reuse and urban regeneration, from early design thinking through to detailed design and construction delivery.
Karin holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Sydney, where she received the Postgraduate Innovation in Architectural Design Award and CHL Turner Memorial Prize. She was also a finalist in Australian Design Review’s 30UNDER30 in 2023 and has contributed to the profession through architectural education, critique and mentoring.
A registered architect and emerging urbanist, Karin is interested in architecture beyond the boundaries of the individual building — as cultural infrastructure capable of connecting people, place and memory while contributing meaningfully to the life of the city.
