Michael is an Associate Director in COX’s Sydney studio – joining in 1998. He is experienced in dealing with complex strategic problems across differing building types.
Michael specialises in health and research facility design. He has extensive experience in designing and initiating stakeholder consultation processes, and functional and detailed services briefing.
He has worked across Australia and overseas in areas spanning master planning, residential design, health, climate-specific facades and large steel structures. Michael has worked on nationally-significant projects such as the Westmean Innovation Precinct, Royal North Shore Hospital Redevelopment, King Street Wharf and the Qudos Arena for the Sydney Olympics.
Michael championed the Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) process for the practice, resulting in COX gaining AEO status under NSW Transport standards. He has also, over the last decade, promoted digital design for the national practice, including building information modelling (BIM). This has included extensive consultation with industry and government agencies on this maturing mode of project delivery.
