Gerard joined COX in 2009, bringing his understanding of how the public spaces surrounding built structures can invigorate them and create opportunities for public engagement. He takes a holistic approach to design that includes comprehensive master planning to account for how new and refurbished structures will impact the wider contexts they are designed for.
Gerard is passionate about the challenges related to multi-unit housing and he is involved in diverse residential projects including medium-rise structures and public housing. He provides creative housing solutions to maximise the quality and amenity for future residents.
Gerard has been heavily involved in projects for ACT Public Housing across various sites. Throughout his work on these projects he uses attention to detail and strategic space planning to create spaces that are highly functional but without losing the characteristics that people can care about and connect to.
