Caleb’s work is focussed on the effects of construction on the character of spaces. In his work, considered details and material conditions carry design intent through all stages of building design. This is a process that he has applied across multiple typologies, including multi-residential, commercial and retail.
Caleb specialises in the delivery of residential and complex mixed-use projects. Over the past few years, he has been the project lead of 169 Herring Road, a significant purpose-built student accommodation project. The project is one of the first high-rise, volumetric modular buildings delivered under the Design and Building Practitioners Act and is at the forefront of new construction methods needed to address the affordability crisis.
He completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Sydney, including an Honours year focused on the shared processes between narrative and architecture. During his undergraduate studies, Caleb worked at DesignMake (Lendlease), where he was part of a team delivering mass timber, design-for-manufacture projects. He has tutored at both UTS and the University of Sydney in building technology and design subjects.
