Ali is fuelled by her interest in the connection of culture and architecture – completing studies in both Germany and Australia.
Ali has a keen interest in Indigenous design, direct stakeholder engagement, and projects of regional and cultural sensitivity – heighted after her involvement with the QYAC on North Stradbroke Island.
Her work is predominantly in the public realm spanning education, cultural and sporting projects. Notably, she has worked on the Queensland Museum, Cairns Performing Arts Centre and the Ipswich Performing Arts Centre. She was a key member of the design and documentation team for the UQ Oral Health Centre in Herston which won key national awards for public architecture and sustainability.
Her strength in conceptualising designs and carrying them to fruition are evident in her role as project architect for the Queensland Museum Refurbishment and the future Central Plaza at the JCU Campus in Townsville.
Ali enjoys acting as a mentor for graduate architects in our Brisbane practice.
