Chris is driven by cities and what makes them tick – the way architecture can improve the public’s experience, and how we can future-proof design to adapt with changing societies and landscapes.
He has experience on many large-scale projects across Australia, London, UAE, and China, now turning his focus to New Zealand, establishing COX’s Aotearoa Studio in 2022.
An experienced and engaging leader, Chris is passionate about the continuation of design excellence, contributing his knowledge as a mentor to emerging talent. He approaches leadership as an opportunity to empower, emphasising that creative solutions require sharing the pen. Chris enjoys working with clients to set clear goals – nurturing their sense of ownership while guiding them towards beautiful, sustainable, and considered design outcomes.
Notably, Chris’ work on the internationally renowned Willinga Park Equestrian Complex illustrates his design vigour, understanding of place, and forward-thinking creativity. Now an Olympic training facility, Willinga Park continues to expand and develop thanks to Chris’ continued design input.
