James brings enthusiasm, expertise and a fine eye for detail to every project. He has experience designing a broad range of projects spanning sports, residential, commercial, and healthcare sectors in Australia, and has contributed to projects of all scales from residential houses to large mixed-use developments, commercial buildings and landmark healthcare facilities.
Throughout his career James has combined a design-focused approach with both conceptual and systematic thinking to translate client ideas into successful and acclaimed built outcomes. His projects include the Victorian Heart Hospital, the new UTAS masterplan, and the Victoria & Vine mixed-use development in inner Melbourne.
Three years spent working at Zaha Hadid Architects provided James with an advanced understanding of architectural geometry and the parametric tools to control it – enabling an ever-increasing solution space to be explored across a wide matrix of parameters. He has represented COX internationally at digital design conferences and continues to ensure that world leading parametric design capabilities are implemented within the practice.
