Paul is a future focused designer sought for his ability to re-invent building types and unlock the hidden potential of every project. With 20 years’ experience and an award-winning portfolio of work across multiple sectors of architecture and urban design, Paul thrives on collaboration with clients to produce highly specific solutions and memorable built environments. Notably his work on the Brisbane Ferry Terminal re-vitalisation project was recognised at the World Architecture Festival awards in 2013.
With a career spanning sub-tropical apartments, dignified social housing, flood resilient infrastructure, transformative master plans, landmark commercial precincts, cultural destinations, immersive learning environments and modular housing, this diversity of experience drives a fresh approach to projects and distinctive outcomes.
Paul draws inspiration from the unique context of every project to ensure it is embedded in place, purposeful to the people who inhabit it and climatically responsive to the environment. This approach creates a distinct narrative that resonates through all aspects of a project from the conceptual idea through to the smallest of details.
With a passion for housing equity, Paul has led design teams for Queensland’s first Build-to-Rent development, the state’s largest supportive accommodation project and multiple social and affordable housing apartment buildings. This work also drives his desire to shift community perceptions and attitudes to density and has informed research collaborations with the University of Queensland, the Exhibition “Purpose Built; Architecture for a better tomorrow” and the winning entry to the Governments Density and Diversity Done Well competition.
Adjunct to his work with COX Paul is a member of the Queensland Urban Design and Places Panel providing state agencies and local governments expert advice on the design of major infrastructure, urban planning and state significant projects.
